In a recent(ish) New York Times article Why So Many People Became Real Estate Agents in the Pandemic it stated that with the pandemic putting people out of jobs and the rise of people needing flexible jobs (with kids learning from home), there saw an increase in real estate agents.
The article states, “In 2021, there were a record number of real estate agents in the United States, according to the National Association of Realtors. More than 156,000 people joined their ranks in 2021 and 2020 combined — nearly 60 percent more than did in the two years prior.”
(Not to mention, the low interest rates drew an increasing interest in people moving and remote work, allowing people to live anywhere and still do their jobs.)
What I’m getting at is that the real estate industry is highly competitive and more so now than ever before.
So, realtors who have had a longstanding career are faced with increased competition from new entrants and have to work harder to stand out.
Some strategies I’ve seen realtors in my local area use for lead generation include:
- Oversized trifold flyer with big, bold letters
- Full-color letter with house listings they’ve sold
- Typed letter with a complimentary adult beverage offer at a nearby lounge
- Magnetic calendar of the college football and college volleyball schedule
- Free home value evaluation letters
A strategy I have yet to see real estate agents in my local area use:
Targeted handwritten cards.
Why Realtors Should Consider Handwritten Cards
As mentioned before, the key is to stand out from your competitors, and I wonder if many of them have discovered this secret weapon for getting leads.
Real estate transactions are very personal because you are involved in one of the most significant changes a person or family may experience. Handwritten cards are also personal.
Plus, there’s the whole 99% opening rate thing- we’re confident we can get your name in front of the right potential clients and help you stand out.
GhostHandwriter is skilled in creating concise and powerful messaging that emulates conversational speech and curating the perfect mailing list. Whether it’s going directly to consumers (i.e., household addresses) or directly to referring partners (i.e., senior living consultants or nursing homes if you target the aging market).
When it comes to using handwritten cards, there are several other automated handwritten card companies out there. Our personalized and detail-oriented approach gives you a higher opening rate, higher closing rate, and ultimately can help you win more business.
